Martha Lyons is a certified personal property appraiser with 38 years of experience. She holds 2 appraisal designations through the American Society of Appraisers as an Accredited Senior Member. Her designations are in Personal Property - Antiques and Decorative Arts and Personal Property-Residential Contents. She has appeared as an expert witness in Circuit, Federal Bankruptcy, and District Courts, and currently is USPAP certified and reaccredited with ASA until 2021.

Academic Instruction

She has taught numerous classes in Art, Architecture, and Furniture History as well as the Market Value of Antiques at local community colleges, private colleges, and the university level. At various times she has cataloged several museum collections.

Education

Her education includes a Master of Business Administration from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. She has additional training at the Winterthur Museum, the Smithsonian Institution, and the New York Historical Society as well as several years as a museum professional. She is the owner of Lyons Appraisals and Sales located in Evans. She conducts appraisals, and home inventories of your entire household contents as well as teaching and writing.
